What is a Vehicle Repair Permit?
In order to repair an accidental car, every car mechanic in Saudi Arabia requires you to present a vehicle repair permit because;
- It is illegal in Saudi Arabia to repair a car without a permit.
- It gives them the confidence that you are not involved in a hit-and-run case.
How to Apply?
In order to apply for a vehicle repair permit;
- Log in to Absher account https://www.absher.sa/
- Click on “Services” under the “Vehicles” tab.
- Select “Vehicles Management“.
- Select the car for which you need the vehicle repair permit.

On the next page;
- Click on the “Issue Vehicle Repair Permit“.
- Select the “Request Vehicle Repair Permit” tab.

Registered Accidents
Now you will see all the accidents registered under this vehicle within the last 90 days including accident number, date, and description.
- Click on the “Create Request” button.
- Click on the “Confirm” button.

- That’s it, your vehicle repair permit has been issued from Absher.
- You can get a vehicle repair permit within 90 days of reporting the accident.
- You can get more than one vehicle repair permit for different accidents.

Unregistered Accidents
In case of an unregistered accident, you can apply for a vehicle repair permit through Absher once a year. In order to do that;
- Log in to Absher account https://www.absher.sa/
- Click on “Services” under the “Vehicles” tab.
- Select “Vehicles Management“.
- Select the car for which you need the vehicle repair permit.
- Click on the “Issue Vehicle Repair Permit“.
- Select the “Request Vehicle Repair Permit” tab.
- Click on the “Create Request” button in unregistered accidents.
- That’s it, you have successfully issued a vehicle repair permit for an unregistered accident.
- Keep in mind that the permit will expire within 24 hours without going to the garage.

Repair the vehicle from a Garage
You can download Ertah app from Playstore or iTunes to see the list of approved workshops.
- Visit any of these workshops.
- Present the vehicle repair permit issued by Absher.
- The garage will process the permit.
- You can cancel the repair permit in case of disagreement with the garage.
